Friday Evening: Arrive & Sunset Row to Bled Island
After work, you arrive in Bled in the evening. Therefore, you won’t have much time for multiple activities. A peaceful sunset row to Bled Island is a perfect way to start your weekend. Rent a traditional wooden rowboat (Pletna) or a regular rowboat from one of the lakeside rental spots, with prices ranging from €15–€25 per hour. The row to Bled Island takes about 20–30 minutes, offering a tranquil experience as the sun sets behind the Julian Alps. Once on the island, take a short walk, visit the Church of the Assumption, and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. Treat yourself to an ice cream while soaking in the breathtaking views before rowing back to the mainland.

Saturday: Hike to Ojstrica & Europe’s Longest Zipline
Start your morning with a hike to Ojstrica. Start your hike at the Mala Osojnica Trailhead. If you’re driving, you can park here for free, 1.2 km from the trailhead, or opt for paid parking at Pristava, which is closer and costs around €2 per hour. The hike is short but steep, taking about 30–45 minutes, but the reward at the top is worth it. From here, you’ll have one of the most iconic panoramic views of Lake Bled, with the island in the middle and the majestic Julian Alps in the background.
After the hike, head to Zipline Dolinka, located near Lake Bled. Depending on your accommodation, you can either walk there or drive. The zipline experience offers 7 ziplines covering 4 km, soaring over the Sava Dolinka Valley with speeds up to 60 km/h. The adventure lasts about 2–3 hours and includes light hiking between the ziplines. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes. The zipline experience costs €75 per person.
If you’re looking for convenient parking next to the zipline office, you can park for €2.50 at a nearby parking lot from 8pm to 8am, with a 10% discount at the Špica Restaurant, only 3 minutes away by foot and right on the lake. During the day, parking is €2.50 per hour.
After an adrenaline-filled afternoon, take it easy for the rest of the day. Consider a lakeside lunch, a swim, or just relaxing at one of Bled’s cozy cafés.
Sunday: Lake Walk, Bled Castle & Vintgar Gorge
Start the day with a relaxed walk around Lake Bled, a 6 km loop that takes about 1.5 hours to complete, providing plenty of scenic views and photo opportunities.
Later, head to Bled Castle, dramatically perched on a cliff above the lake. Explore the museum, medieval courtyard, and wine cellar, and enjoy the panoramic views of the lake and mountains. Entry fee is €18 per person.
After the castle, take a trip to Vintgar Gorge. You can book your ticket online for €10 per person. The gorge is reachable by car or public transport. If you’re driving, you can park at one of the nearby Vintgar parking areas. The Vintgar Central Parking Area Lip is the closest to the Visitor Centre, and you can take the free electric Vintgar Shuttle from there, which departs every 20 minutes. The Vintgar Parking Area Blejska Dobrava is further away, and you’ll need to take the shuttle from there every hour. Make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before your booked time to catch the shuttle. Parking fee is €5 per car.
